A site for people who build software by describing it, and want to get good at the parts that description alone won't get you through.
Something genuinely changed. People with no engineering background are shipping real software, and engineers are working in stacks they've never learned. That's not hype; it's just true now.
What hasn't changed is that software gets hard in the same places it always did. Auth, data models, edge cases, security, the last twenty percent. The tools got dramatically better at the first eighty and barely moved on the rest.
What's here
A directory that says what tools are actually good at and where they bite. Articles on the things that go wrong rather than the things that go right. Forums so the answer you find at midnight is still there for the next person. And Rescue, because sometimes the honest answer is that a project needs someone to sit down with it.
How we pick tools
Nothing in the directory is a paid placement. Entries are written from use, and every one includes a "watch out for" because a review with no downside isn't a review. When something is genuinely the best in its category we say so, and when the difference between two options doesn't matter much, we say that too.
